What ISO Air Quality Class is Needed for Pharmaceutical Applications?

Problem: I need high-quality breathing air in my pharmaceutical plant. What ISO air quality do I need and how do I achieve it?

Solution: A typical pharmaceutical plant needs a compressed air specification of ISO Quality Class 1.2.1. The International Standards Organization (ISO) separates air quality levels into classes to help different industries classify the air requirements of their facilities. The pharmaceutical industry needs a high classification of air because of the environment and importance of filtering out oil, dust and particles when creating medicine and other pharmaceutical products. Having an ISO Quality 1.2.1 classification of air means that the air has 0.1 micron particulate filtration, -40°F dew point, and 0.008 ppm oil filtration. Included below is a chart of the ISO air quality classifications.
