Pneumatech offers receivers in a large variety of sizes (60 to 5000 gallons) and treatments to suit your needs. These can be used for compressed air or inert gases like nitrogen.

Vessels have several functions: they stabilize pressure peaks and provide stable air or nitrogen flow; have a storage function in case of high consumption; and help with the preliminary separation and removal of condensate.

Pneumatech offers a wide range of vessels capable of handling pressures up to 16 barg / 232 psig. They are available in 3 types: painted, galvanized and vitrified. Painted vessels are generally used where receivers are not subjected to extreme weather conditions and perfectly clean air is not an absolute requirement. Galvanized vessels are used when there is a possibility of corrosion. Vitrified vessels (Vitroflex) are treated with vitreous enamel, which makes them 100% water and steam resistant.

Sizing your air receiver

There is no one rule that fits all as some applications require larger air tanks because of the process.

However, 2 rules of thumb can help to finetune:

  1. compressor cfm x 1 = air receiver volume in gallons
  2. compressor horsepower x 4 = air receiver volume in gallons

Correctly sizing your air receiver brings the following benefits for your compressors' operations:

  • Less waste during unloading period
  • Overall smoother operation
  • Avoid mechanical stress on several components

Type of vessels

  1. Painted Vessels: Generally used where receivers are not subjected to extreme weather conditions and perfectly clean air is not an absolute requirement
  2. Galvanized Vessels: Used when there is a possibility of corrosion
  3. Vitrified Vessels: Treated with vitreous enamel which makes them 100% water- and steam-resistant
