Air treatment for the textile industry

From the extravagant outfits of fashion models to the onesies of babies, nearly every human being wears clothes. Therefore, it is no surprise that the textile industry is such an important part of our economy. And just as textiles play a crucial role in our lives, high-quality compressed air plays a crucial role in their production. Pneumatech air treatment solutions ensure compressed air for textiles meets the necessary quality requirements.

The use of compressed air for textiles production

As a result of the modernization of production processes, the consumption of compressed air in textile manufacturing is on the rise. The so-called “fourth” utility keeps all types of machines in many different production processes running. Here are just some:

  • Air-jet weaving
  • Man-made fiber production
  • Texturizing
  • Winding and dyeing non-woven textiles
  • Pneumatic transport for PET chips

In addition, compressed air is also needed to power spinning machines, grinding mills and other machines for processing denim, yarn production and more.

Finally, compressed air plays an important role in the treatment of the large volume of wastewater that the textiles production generates.

The importance of quality air in textile production

Untreated compressed air contains moisture, particles and oil. If this contaminated air were to get in contact with your textiles, their quality would suffer. In addition, these contaminants can also wreak havoc on your production equipment and processes. Therefore, the air must be treated first.

Fortunately, different technologies are available to ensure that the air meets your air quality requirements:

  • Particles: Filters
  • Water/moisture: After coolers, dryers, water separator, drains, filters
  • Oil: Filters & carbon towers or using an oil-free, Class 0 compressor

The dryer solution

Moisture in particular can do a lot of damage. However, with a good dryer, you can help prevent the following problems (and others):

  • Rusting in pneumatic controls or any moving parts in manufacturing equipment
  • Freezing of the inside of control lines
  • Corrosion in any instruments that are used in the manufacturing process, which can result in inaccurate readings and production stops

The compressed air quality standard

ISO 8573-1:2010 is the international standard that categorizes compressed air quality. Knowing which quality class your application requires will help you find the right solutions to achieve it.

The dryer that meets textiles production needs

PB 760-7400 HE

The PB 760-7400 HE delivers a low pressure dew point (PDP) of -40°C/-40°F as standard (and -70°C/-94°F as an option) for flows up to 12,600 m3/hr.

Achieving quality compressed air starts with the right dryer. For textile companies, the Pneumatech PB adsorption dryer is the ideal solution:

  • Clean air: You get high-purity compressed air with a reliable pressure dew point to meet ISO 8573-1:2010 Class 1, 2 & 3 requirements.
  • Operational cost savings: The PB offers industry-leading efficiency to keep your energy costs down.
  • Reliability: Thanks to their in-house components and durable design, PB dryers come with the highest reliability to minimize production downtime.
  • Long service intervals: PB dryers are delivered ready for use, with high-grade and long-life components and desiccant.
